Meet The Band
Tom
Tom is a talented and engaging party performer known for his vast vocal range and impressive melismas. A BIMM graduate, he has established himself in the local music scene, regularly performing at prestigious venues like Casablanca's Jazz Club in Brighton. Tom's noteworthy career includes collaborations with members of The Vamps and working alongside James McVey. Winner of the Kent-wide talent competition, Gimme A Break, Tom has showcased his skills on local radio (KMFM) and is now dedicated to delivering soulful performances with The Sonics, where he brings his exceptional vocal abilities to make each performance truly unforgettable.

Josh
Josh, a BIMM graduate from Brighton, is a seasoned professional with a wealth of experience, having played at numerous weddings and events across the UK. As the Musical Director of the band, Josh's expertise shines through with tasteful musicality, a deep understanding of music theory, and a talent honed through leading and developing function bands. Recognised as a walking jukebox, Josh guarantees to make your party a hit, ensuring you are in safe hands!

Connor
Connor, a dynamic performer and BIMM graduate, captivates audiences with face-melting solos and high-energy stage presence. Despite his young age, he has embarked on an impressive career, touring extensively across the UK and performing at major festivals like BloodStock Open Air and Mammothfest. Sharing stages with renowned bands such as Bombay Bicycle Club, Slayer, and Gojira, Connor's extensive CV rivals seasoned professionals. Beyond his music career, he is an accomplished teacher, contributing to musical theatre nationwide.

Steve
Steve, a seasoned music veteran, is The Sonics' driving force both on stage and behind the scenes. With a career that started at the young age of 13, he has been regularly gigging, touring the UK with original bands, and building an impressive performance CV. Having shared the stage with talented acts like Athlete and Capdown, Steve brings over 10 years of experience ensuring your party plans with The Sonics are in capable hands.

The band will roam their way around your guests as they perform, delivering a personalised and interactive performance for your drinks reception or meal. I don't even know where to begin. The Sonics were absolutely amazing at our wedding and exceeded all our expectations. We have had so many compliments from our guests saying how good the band were, they played such a range of songs to get everyone on the dance floor. You know your band are smashing it when your guests are asking you when the band is coming back on during their set breaks. They have such an energy when performing and Tom's vocals were something else, we didn't want the night to end! We spent some time searching through different bands but as soon as we listened to The Sonics we knew we had to book them. The reviews were already incredible, and they live up to the comments that people make. This is why I am taking the time to write this review because they really are fantastic. They arrived on time and set up discretely. My wife loved the little touches they added, such as including her name in some lyrics in different songs. They performed our first dance song beautifully and then the dance floor was full for each and every set. Many guests asked who they were and where we found them, saying they would recommend The Sonics for any future events. Our venue host was very impressed with their punctuality and professionalism, also their performance! She said she would like to add them to their list of recommended suppliers for future couples. The variety of songs from different decades worked for guests of all ages, but without being cheesy (like some old-fashioned DJs). We honestly couldn't recommend these guys enough, we were so happy with how amazing they were on our special day. A huge thank you to the lovely guys of The Sonics!

We booked the Sonics for our wedding nr Chichester, and have to say they smashed it out of the park!! As well as a genuinely fantastic sound, the band judged the room perfectly and quickly had everyone up and dancing, for the whole of their two, hour-long sets. As well as being great musicians, the whole band had a really strong stage presence and knew how to entertain and keep the party going. They were super-professional, punctual, responsive and easy to deal with, and were completely dedicated to making sure everyone had a great time. Apropos, a top tip: give the band a suggested track or two by all means, but leave the overall set to them and you won't be disappointed. These guys know what they are doing and when to crank up the volume. And finally...their lead singer, Tom.....wow what a voice !! Even if you don't like soul (and if not, why not?!) you have to get the Sonics to play the James Brown number "I Got You (I Feel Good)"....a totally five star performance.

We LOVED having the Sonics at our wedding. In classic wedding style, the speeches were overrunning - but rather than start setting up they waited and started slightly later for us which was really flexible and appreciated. They played all the greats, the dancefloor was NEVER empty, and I genuinely thought they were just really lovely guys too. They did a fantastic rendition of 'Green Eyes' by Coldplay which they learned for our first dance - so so impressed and would HIGHLY recommend. Can we get married again and re-book them!? Amazing.

The Sonics were absolutely outstanding. Their communication leading up to our wedding day was amazing and they were so kind and accommodating on the day! Their music on the night was absolutely perfect - everyone (young and old) was dancing the whole evening (even when our generator went off halfway through the night, The Sonics managed to keep everyone entertained with some fantastic acapella renditions!) I distinctly remember one of our guests saying ‘booking this wedding band is the best decision you have ever made!’ We almost didn’t book live music for the day but we are so glad we did as it really changed the whole atmosphere of the evening, and The Sonics were faultless. Would highly, highly recommend!
