Biography

Founded in 2018 with the aim of infusing a touch of Brazilian carnival tradition into the UK, London Bloco draws inspiration from the vibrant street bands that grace the streets of Rio de Janeiro during the annual carnival celebration. In Rio, thousands gather to revel in the music of diverse street bands, contributing to the lively and festive atmosphere.

Gabriel Dias, the trumpeter and founder of London Bloco, hails from Rio and has a musical background cultivated at the Juilliard School in New York. With a passion for the carnival spirit, Dias formed the band, arranging and rehearsing popular songs from around the globe to capture the essence of the Brazilian celebration.

London Bloco seamlessly blends Brazilian grooves with pop music and timeless favorites, creating a unique musical fusion. The band is a regular performer at corporate events, weddings, festivals, birthday parties, and more. Making their international debut in Capri and Toulouse, London Bloco has showcased its vibrant sound beyond the UK.

In 2020, the band entered into a partnership with Jägermeister, expanding its presence at events across the UK and creating engaging online content during the lockdown period. London Bloco remains dedicated to spreading joy by upholding the lively spirit of carnival in their performances, delivering a resounding "Viva o Carnaval!" to their audiences.
