Biography
Blue Sanctuary is a professional jazz trio comprising vocalist Sigrid, guitarist Charlie, and bassist Rob. This dynamic ensemble brings their unique twist to a wide array of musical genres, from heartfelt jazz standards to reimagined pop anthems and timeless classics.
Originating from Oslo, Sigrid holds a 1st Honours Degree from BIMM London and is an accomplished solo artist. Her versatile vocals range from velvety and tender to spirited and playful, drawing inspiration from a diverse spectrum of artists, including Frank Sinatra and Alicia Keys. Sigrid's extensive experience as a session singer, songwriter, and producer alongside renowned acts like Kygo, Crystal Fighters, and Maverick Sabre adds depth and richness to Blue Sanctuary's performances.
Charlie, a native of London, brings his expertise as a jazz and pop guitarist, having graduated from Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Renowned for his creative flair and inventive approach, Charlie has shared the stage with acclaimed artists such as Maverick Sabre, Kelis, and All Saints. His mastery of the guitar infuses each song with its distinct character and charm.
Completing the trio is Rob, a versatile electric and double bass player based in London. With a background in jazz studies from MDX University, Rob's melodic sensibility and impeccable timing lend a depth and swing to Blue Sanctuary's sound. His experience performing with esteemed musicians like Shirley Bassey and Blake underscores his musical prowess and adds a touch of sophistication to the ensemble.
